Reading and Writing
Is your child ready to learn to read and write? Reading readiness is not just about learning to recognise letters and sounds. Rhyme and rhythm are very important. There are hundreds of phonic books and apps but which ones are good? How do you choose books to read? How do you encourage a reluctant reader?

Learning to write is complex. Faced with a blank sheet of paper and a vague instruction can leave a child feeling panic! Learning how to structure a report or write a story or an editorial requires organisational skills some children need to be taught so as to overcome the feeling of "where do I begin?"

Sleep and Bedtime
I can help you to work through your child's sleep problems to help you to develop reliable and relaxed bedtimes. Together we will discuss your current routines and work towards a situation that suits you and your family.
Each family is unique. It is a solution that works for you.

Screen Dependency
This can be an issue for all ages. It also contributes to other learning related problems. Learning how to help your child choose alternative activities is important.
Speech and Language
Learning to speak clearly and concisely is a desirable skill which in turn leads to better writing techniques. Having good communication skills and good presentation skills are an asset. Good manners and etiquette are required in all children and adults.
Adolescents
Growing up can be difficult for all concerned. Building good relationships at this stage is beneficial for all members of the family and supports the child when they most need it. Helping your child make the right choices when faced with external influence is important.

Food and Nutrition
Are meal times stressful for you and your
child? Are you worried about your child's nutrition. Good nutrition is vital to the development of the brain, gives a child the necessary energy to play and allows a child to be inquisitive. Good eating habits lay down the foundation for adulthood and independence. Together we can discuss strategies and develop a plan to improve the overall experience.

Numeracy and Math
Learn how to make numeracy and math fun for your child. For some children these skills come easily but for others it is extremely difficult. Helping a child to gain confidence is key to success.
